Keep Your Family Prepared: National Preparedness Month

blog photo

This September celebrates the 11th annual National Preparedness Month, an observation targeted to help the public be prepared for states of emergency. Are you and your family prepared in case of an emergency? Use the tips below to help yourself and those around you be prepared in case of an emergency.

  • Whether at home, in the car or at the office, always have an emergency kit handy. Include health and food supplies along with a first aid kit to help cover all of your bases should a state of emergency arise.
  • Have an emergency plan at home and in the office. In case of any natural disaster or other type of state of emergency, have a plan in place. Be sure that each member of your family and office team are aware of the plan.
  • Stay informed and updated on occasions that could become states of emergency. Stay tuned into media outlets, whether through television or radio, to keep your family up-to-date on the progress of certain situations.
  • Consider taking first-aid or emergency preparation classes. By involving yourself and your entire family in classes such as first-aid and emergency preparation, you will all be ready to handle emergency situations.

Don’t wait until you are in the midst of a state of emergency. Instead, prepare yourself and those around you by using the tips above.
