Our client is a leading manufacturer of the polymer – Nylon 6. It is used to produce engineered plastics, fibers, filaments and films. These products, in turn, are used in a wide range of applications, including automotive, food and industrial packaging, carpeting, wire and cable, building and construction, and sports apparel.
The Electrical Reliability Engineer reports to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager and is responsible for electrical reliability projects supporting the Maintenance and Reliability organization.
Responsibilities:

Support all electrical maintenance in a plant environment.

Evaluating recurring electrical and controls failures to determine root cause and corrective action

Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment and controls
- Support capital projects from design phase to startup

Research and recommend preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and consultants including spare parts
- Train and assist people how to prepare Reliability Plans for critical electrical equipment: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operator Monitoring, Critical Repair activities, and Spare Parts bills of materials quality assurance
- Functional Owner of the electrical elements of Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance standards for OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity element of Process Safety Management
- Develop and implement reliability control plans for electrical systems as part of an ongoing asset risk management initiative

Lead electrical equipment performance troubleshooting as requested/required

Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintain a knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management, OSHA requirements, and other safety standards
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited preferred)

7+ years of experience as a reliability engineer specializing in instrumentation and controls experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in electrical reliability (low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, VFD’s, motors and motor control systems)

Knowledge in the use and application of predictive technologies (infrared, testing history, diagnostic software/systems)

Familiarity/experience with Fault Current, Coordination and Arc Flash Studies.

Experience using SAP work management system, Meridium, or similar system for reliability data collection and analysis
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma tools for business process improvement
