My client is expanding and seeks a Scientist to explore gene therapy strategies. The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:
- Assist in creating a research pipeline and technology platform through collaboration with gene transfer technology, preclinical, bioanalytical and other internal groups
- Develop gene therapy strategies using AAV vectors in animal models and apply knowledge of AAV vectors and their use in gene transfer animal models
- Collaborate with teams to conduct proof of concept studies and support technology development
- Help build state of the art capabilities for in vivo and in vitro analysis of AAV vectors
- Perform analyses to determine therapeutic efficacy of AAV treatment in rodent models
- Develop new methods and assays to evaluate AAV vectors
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- PhD and AAV biology experience
- Ability to work collaboratively on internal functional teams and projects
- Both in-vivo and in-vitro pharmacology experience
- Extensive and current hands-on experience in tissue processing, RT-PCR/quantitative PCR, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA is essential.
- Excellent team player with good interpersonal skills. Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with internal and external organizations
