Major company that is expanding at their large site in a good location in east / central Alabama has 2 new opportunities for Manufacturing Engineers to design manufacturing processes for optimum efficiency as well as lead root cause investigations. Will be responsible for ongoing life-cycle process performance. This is a high volume medical device manufacturer. Metrics that are key include process efficiency, first pass yield, and scrap. - Bachelor degree in Engineering or Statistics
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing envirionment
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or automotive industry
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as Windows applications
- Must be detail oriented
- Must have good prioritization and organization skills
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills that are good
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Able to convey conclusions and recommendations concisely in properly formatted and well-written reports
- Would like working knowledge of statistics
- Able to construct engineering studies and design of experiments
- Prefer knowledge of manufacturing validation process associated with healthcare products
- Prefer plastic injection mold or coatings process experience
- Able to design and manage value stream maps
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes
- Able to lead continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects
- Ability to lead project teams for root cause investigation, validation strategies, and process design
- Must be able to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Needs objectivity and openness to views and opinions of coworkers
- Wanting someone who places success of team above own
