Non-automotive manufacturer is seeking a PLC Engineer to work in their fast-paced, mass production manufacturing organization. As the PLC Engineer, you will report to a manager and will be responsible for PLC interface and upgrades on all manufacturing equipment.  Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:

 
  • Partner with process and quality engineers to complete continuous improvement projects
  • Train maintenance technicians on standardized PLC programming tasks
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting, including vision systems, drives, servos, HMIs, etc.
  • Complete cost justification on potential projects 
  • Manage multiple projects at a time, adhering to timelines
  • Upgrade PLC platforms on equipment 
  • Take after hour calls as needed to support PLC troubleshooting 
  • Complete additional engineering tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS for the PLC Engineer:
1. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; the position does require a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
2. Depending on education, at least two years of similar PLC programming experience   
3. Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs, ideally Allen Bradley
4. Experience working in manufacturing environments performing PLC functions 
5. Electrical engineering troubleshooting, including drives, servos, etc. 
6. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Robotics and/or automation experience
2. Experience working with vision systems
