The Social Work/Behavioral Health Supervisor provides leadership and direct supervision to the Behavioral Health Unit’s social services team, evaluating the quality and appropriateness of social services furnished.
The Social Work/Behavioral Health Supervisor assesses the psychosocial needs of the patients, families and caregivers.
This includes acting as a resource for case management and discharge planning, assisting with complex discharges.
The Social Work/Behavioral Health Supervisor assists with behavioral health-related case management needs in the other inpatient units and Emergency Department, as needed.
The Social Work/Behavioral Health Supervisor takes a lead in ensuring the completion of therapeutic treatment with individuals and groups.
This role also facilitates treatment team meetings, coordinating with involved disciplines to ensure treatment planning is up-to-date and patient-centered.
The Social Work/Behavioral Health Coordinator supports and provides leadership to the entire Behavioral Health Unit staff under the direction of the Behavioral Health Director.
This includes assisting the Behavioral Health Director in coordination and operation of the services provided by Behavioral Health Department.
Represents the Behavioral Health Department in the absence of the Director on committees or activities.
Assists in department quality and safety initiatives, financial management, staffing, planning, regulatory compliance, and customer service activities.
Must have a Master’s degree in Social Work.
LMSW or LCSW.
Must have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Must have a knowledge of EMTALA, applicable regulatory standards, government and private insurance benefits (e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, managed care), and working knowledge of clinical review guidelines.
Must have the ability to provide leadership, anticipate and organize workflow, prioritize and follow through on responsibilities.
Must have strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills necessary to provide Social Work services in a hospital setting.
Must be assertive and creative in problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
Position is located southeast of Tucson.
