Job Introduction

The Director, Internal Audit will be responsible for leading the audit investigator team in conducting forensic audits and/or internal investigations globally and ensuring that ethics and compliance concerns raised by employees, Management, business partners, Internal Audit or other third parties globally are promptly and thoroughly investigated and appropriately remediated. Areas of focus include fraud, conflict of interest, collusion and kickbacks, records falsification, and anti-bribery. The role will be responsible for forensic data analysis, as well as leading complex investigative interviews with company employees, vendors and partners, working in close coordination with Legal, Human Resources, Compliance and Corporate Security.

The Director, Internal Audit will report to the Vice President, Internal Audit.

Major Responsibilities

· Develop the Audit strategy in investigations and fraud risk management

· Collaborate with leadership in Legal and Compliance to partner on risk assessment and compliance audit programs for the mitigation of key fraud risks across the Company

· Engage cross functionally to conduct investigate research and analysis to produce well written due diligence reports on forensic audits and investigations

· Develop best practices for investigative processes, training, and reporting

· Work collaboratively with key stakeholders who have data responsibilities on implementing the use of forensic data analytics to identify transactions involving asset misappropriation, fraud, misstatement of financial statements or falsification of company records and conduct investigations

· Analyze investigation trends and advise a broad spectrum of stakeholders on emerging risks, the importance of anti-fraud control and an effective control environment to prevent and deter fraud

· Set the direction and culture of the Investigations team, develop the careers and skills of the audit investigators by hiring quality candidates and providing effect coaching and training

· Influence partnering with Chief Compliance Officer for establishing new policies around emerging regulations and laws

Knowledge and Education

· Bachelor’s Degree required, in the area of Business, Accounting, or Finance or a related field

· CPA and CFE required

Work Experience

· 10+ years of related work experience with a proven high-level performance in the areas of audit, investigations, compliance, security, or similar function

· Forensic accounting or investigative experience

· 5+ years demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team and interact with subject matter experts and all levels of management

· Experience in automotive industry is an asset

Skills and Competencies

· Risk expert, with intuitive understanding of process and ability to pinpoint risks and gaps.

· Ability to apply a technical skillset in forensics to create efficiencies in the investigative process

· Ability to navigate through ambiguity, lead multiple projects and teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with accountability to deliver on commitments

· A Leader who takes initiative and is able to apply thoughtful and deliberate judgement and decision making,

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Is thorough, accurate and attentive to detail

· Ability to address problems and orchestrate continuous process improvement

· Ability to work in a confidential manner due to access to information of a sensitive nature

Work Environment

· Standard office environment

· Some evening and overnight work hours may be required

Regular overnight travel 10-25% of the time may be required
