Sr. Specialist, Integrated Product Support Engineer -Goleta CA

Qualifications:

  • MS/MA degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; BS/BA degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience; or in lieu of degree 20 years of direct Acquisition Logistics work experience identified in resume.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge level of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with OJT experience.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance – granted within past 5 years.

 Essential Functions:

  • Experience on medium to large programs as ILS expert
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Process (DoDI-5000-series), and Logistics Support Analysis (GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL-HDBK-502A, specifically).
  • Working knowledge of the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements, their applicable Contractual Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) deliverables, and key interactions and/or affects these elements can have during the five phases of a product’s life.
  • Defines and develops logistics support requirements, plans and schedules; performs life cycle cost; level of repair; and other ILS analysis efforts based on interpretation of reliability, maintainability, and availability outputs.
  • Performs analysis of testing and technical data/reports to determine/formulate specific recommendations regarding spare/repair parts and support equipment.
  • Perform Sparing and Maintenance Analysis.
  • Generate source data for O&M manual usage.
  • Use LSA Reports capability to provide unique CDRL deliverable content.
  • Understand and support the provisioning activity.
  • Develop and submit formal ILS CDRLs on a regular basis.
  • Builds relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers through the resolution of delivery issues. Analyzes and provides input to drawing documentation and technical orders.
  • Proven track record of working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.
  • Provide critical inputs to the execution and continuous improvement of all logistics processes and ILS systems.
  • Ensures that milestones are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to adhere to master plans and schedules and maximize customer satisfaction.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite, LMI, and LCC modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication and management skills, as well as the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group.
  • Results oriented – experience with quick react contracts preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a process focus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions among functional groups (Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, procurement, and others) is a key success factor.
  • Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills demonstrated by related work experience.
  • Strong coordination skills, organization skills, and detail orientation.
  • Understanding and familiarity with information security practices.
  • ML certification from The International Society of Logistics (SOLE), ASEP/CSEP from International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), or PMP from Project Management Institute (PMI).

Summary:

This position requires someone who is experienced in all aspects of Integrated Logistics/Product Support on Navy programs.  Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Logistics Support Engineering.

Ideal candidate will interface with other engineering disciplines on large, complex programs with minimal oversight or direction.

Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence design changes support program sustainment needs/requirements. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, products, and sustainment strategies. Provides input to new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Manages technical content and mentoring of subordinate member efforts.
