Job Description

Major expanding company at a large site has opportunities for 2 Warehouse Supervisors with the location being a nice metropolitan area of east / central Alabama that will be responsible for providing materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services. The Warehouse Supervisors will also oversee the processing of incoming stock/materials, the picking and filling of orders from stock, packing and shipping of orders, as well as the organization and retrieval of stock.  One position is on the day shift and another on the night shift.  Benefits begin on the first day and there is some relocation assistance available. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome delivery trucks
  • Receive and track shipments
  • Ability to load materials in delivery trucks using forklifts
  • Ability to accommodate and carefully handle fragile materials
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing practices
  • Must be able to track and document shipment arrival and departure times
  • Ability to scan, tag, and label materials
  • Ability to box, wrap, and pack materials to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Prepare orders for shipment
  • Ability to document damaged materials
  • Ability to supervise staff (communicating job expectations, coaching, counseling)
  • Knowledge of inventory and logistics software programs
  • Willingness to work as a team member
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to effectively meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations
  • Must comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures/protocols
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciles with data system
  • Maintain orderly physical condition of warehouse and operational equipment
  • Complete warehouse operation requirements by accurately scheduling and assigning employees
  • Knowledge of cGMP
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of SAP/MES systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • At least 5 years of prior warehouse experience required
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events in the work environment
  • Prior forklift experience; current forklift certification
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to work in multiple locations
  • Prior inventory and logistics software program experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Great physical stamina and manual dexterity
  • Strong, dependable team player
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Workplace safety management qualified
  • Familiar with managing warehouse processes using data, analytics, and software
  • Prior inventory control and reporting experience
  • Familiarity with SAP or supply chain fundamentals
