The holiday season can be a chaotic time for everyone. This disorder can cause problems within the workplace, but a few simple tips can help you to maintain a calm and conducive work environment during the holiday season:

  • Be conscious that not all employees celebrate the same holiday. December is chock-full of holidays, including Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. There are even individuals who do not celebrate holidays at all. Remember to be respectful and inclusive of this during the holiday season.
  • Stay focused on your work responsibilities. It is easy to become distracted through the holiday season with celebrations and parties, but it is important to stay focused on your work tasks first. Try to remember to make your work-related responsibilities a priority, so that your productivity does not decrease.
  • Remember to behave appropriately at all company holiday functions. If you’re company hosts a holiday party for you and your coworkers, remember to maintain professionalism during the function. Do not drink excessively or overstep boundaries that you would typically observe during normal business operations.

Take time to enjoy this holiday season while also maintaining a calm and focused work atmosphere.
