Our 50 for 50 campaign, which celebrates Acloché’s 50th year in business by giving back to the community with 50 Acts of Gratitude, continues on with our Acloché Medical Staffing team Paying It Forward!
Our team chose to head to the store and purchase in-need household items to donate to YWCA in Columbus. The Medical staff donated toothbrushes, towels, children’s dinnerware, toiletries, household cleaners and more to the wonderful organization.
The YWCA stands for a single mission: to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Through various services, the YWCA has been helping the Columbus community since 1886. The YWCA Family Center provides emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families in central Ohio. Their national model and goal is to help families find housing within 3 weeks of entering the program. Each family in need can receive healthy meals, warm beds, access to basic-need items, and transportation assistance during their stay. The Family Center also provides award-winning child care programs, so parents can spend worry-free days searching for work and permanent homes. Through their partnership with Project Connect, the YWCA will even bus their residing children to their school of origin during their stay!
The YWCA also has a Women’s Residency, which provides affordable housing for women in transition. Today, the historic Griswold Building in downtown Columbus is home to low-income women at any given time—many who are beginning their first jobs; recovering from drug-related, alcohol-related, and mental illnesses; or pursuing their education. The Women’s Residency offers wellness and recovery support, career resource centers, a GED program, and many more incredible services aimed to help those in need.
As always, we are proud of our Acloché team for finding such amazing organizations to give their time to, and we thank the YWCA for providing such an important service to those in need in our community!
