Next Saturday, October 26th, marks National Make a Difference Day – a day dedicated to the largest national day of community service. It celebrates Americans across the nation joining their neighbors and uniting in a common goal to better the lives of others. If you haven’t planned to already, join your neighbors in this day of service by following the tips we have outlined below.

  • Find a project. Volunteering is easy when it’s something you are passionate about. Decide what type of charity you would like to volunteer for, and then find local charities around your area where you can volunteer.
  • Mark your calendar. Mark October 26th on your calendar as the day you will volunteer at a charity of your choice.
  • Share your experience. Tweet (@MDDay) “Make a Difference Day” on Twitter with pictures from your volunteer activities or share your pictures on their Facebook page.
  • Enjoy the experiences of others. See what others are doing by checking the “Make a Difference Day” Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.

Whether it is a full day activity or just a couple of hours, every volunteer activity makes an impact on those in need, so get out, get started and volunteer!
