Acloché’s 50 for 50 campaign, which celebrates 50 years of service to Central Ohio with 50 Acts of Gratitude, continued on Thursday as our Columbus-West branch hosted yet another Lunch & Learn, Acloché’s sixth of 2018.
In an effort to connect with our local business communities, once a month one of our Acloché branches will host a free-to-attend Lunch & Learn event, where we invite our clients, partners, and a diverse range of business professionals to spend an afternoon with us as we tackle a variety of workplace topics. These classes are designed to discuss and work through real-world examples of different workplace issues, ranging everywhere from employee training to conflict management.
Our West team chose a topic that really resonated with the local business community, On the Job Training for the Production Trainer. The focus of this course was to teach and refine the skills necessary to effectively train others on the job, creating a more efficient workplace. Participants were shown how to prepare, plan, and organize training courses for those with new duties or positions through interactive lessons and activities.
“I really enjoyed the training today,” one of Thursday’s Lunch & Learn participants stated. “The instructor was wonderful—very funny, knowledgeable, and kept everyone engaged.”
During the Lunch & Learn, we broke down how to understand the adult learning process, and the communication skills needed to successfully transmit your message. A session was held toward the end of the course where participants practiced and demonstrated their training skills, with valuable feedback being provided.
All of our Lunch & Learns this year include a catered lunch, and this week that was provided by Freshbox Catering. Freshbox is an incredible local organization that offers meaningful employment to community members affected by poverty, employment barriers, and homelessness. Over the years, we have ordered from Freshbox for a variety of events, and could not be happier with the service they provide.
As we continue our Lunch & Learn series, our goal is to provide coaching and advice that pertains to real life situations, helping our participants expand their knowledge on the subjects at hand.
