Along with being the top-rated staffing agency in Central Ohio, Acloché also has dozens of professional services that you may not be aware of!

As a full-service workforce development company, Acloché is also a registered BCI/FBI and WebCheck background screening administrator in the state of Ohio. Commonly, employers require background checks before bringing someone on as a new hire or to verify a professional license that the individual holds.

Per the Ohio Attorney General’s website:

“Many public and private employers require background checks for employment purposes.  State law mandates that schools, daycare centers, health care facilities, and others require such checks as part of the hiring process.  Some individuals are also required to have a background check to obtain professional licensure.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) regularly processes about a million background checks a year.  BCI completes such background checks by comparing fingerprints received against a database of criminal fingerprints to determine if there is a criminal record. All fingerprints must be submitted to BCI electronically through WebCheck or a card scan unless the required reasons for an exemption are met.”

While identity verification and criminal background screenings are two of the more common reasons for getting a background check, a recent City Council meeting is bringing a big change. The state of Ohio has recently passed legislation that requires hosts of residencies listed on online hospitality marketplaces, such as the popular apps Airbnb or Vrbo, to complete a full BCI background check.

This mandate is intended to protect guests from inadequate accommodation or potentially dangerous environments. “From a public-safety standpoint, we want to make sure that folks have passed a background check, to make sure that potential renters come to the city, utilize the short-term rental, are not putting themselves in a bad position,” states City Councilman Rob Dorans.
